As a part of his commitment to sharing his success, Beau believes in giving back local organizations in his community.
One of Beau’s original reasons for starting his business was to give to his school’s missionary fund and to date, Beau has contributed over $2,500 by donating 25% of his profit back to the school when he works the varsity football games.
Additionally, after recovering from a very serious case of pneumonia in 2013, Beau made it his personal mission to support Scottish Rite Hospital, an Atlanta Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Beau is able to do this through his involvement with UGA Miracle, a student-run philanthropy benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Since becoming a UGA Miracle kid in 2015, Beau has raised over $8,000 “For The Kids” through his ice cream sales.
He has also donated to several other local charities and organizations in his community, such as the Red Cross, the Junior League of Athens, Athens Clarke County Mentor Program and the Diabetes Association. Even more, in February 2018, he started a GoFundMe campaign to raise $5,000 so he could treat 100 STEM girls to a special screening of Disney’s, A Wrinkle in Time. In April of 2018, Beau will participate in Dancing with the Athens Stars (DWAS) to help raise money for Project Safe.
Lil’ Ice Cream Dude wouldn’t be a reflection of who Beau is without stewarding his success to make a positive difference in the world.
